A nd forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.

Then forty days were devoted for him, for that is the customary number of days required for those who are embalmed. And the Egyptians wept and bemoaned him for seventy days.
