H e was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.

He was a powerful animal-killer in the eyes of the Lord. So it is said, “Like Nimrod, a powerful animal-killer in the eyes of the Lord.”
