T hen one of the people spoke and said, Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying, Cursed be the man that eats any food this day. And the people were faint.

فَقالَ أحَدُ الجُنُودِ لِيُوناثانَ: «أجبَرَنا أبُوكَ أنْ نُقسِمَ قَسَماً، وَقالَ مَلْعُونٌ كُلُّ مَنْ يَأكُلُ اليَومَ طَعاماً. فَلَمْ يَذُقِ الرِّجالُ أيَّ طَعامٍ. وَلِهَذا هُمْ مُنْهَكُونَ.»
