T herefore, they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness, but the battle overtook them, and those who came out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.

Perciò si diedero alla fuga davanti agli uomini d'Israele in direzione del deserto, ma non poterono sottrarsi alla battaglia; e quelli che uscivano dalla città piombarono nel loro mezzo e li massacrarono.
