T hen when the men of Israel turned their backs in the battle and those of Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons, for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us as in the first battle.

Doar atunci bărbaţii lui Israel ar fi trebuit să se întoarcă în luptă. Beniamiţii începuseră să lovească şi pentru că numărul celor ucişi era aproape de treizeci de oameni, ei îşi ziceau: „Cu siguranţă că sunt nimiciţi dinaintea noastră ca în prima luptă!“
