S eeing, therefore, that ye did not defend me, I put my life in my hands and went over against the sons of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand. Why then have ye come up against me this day to fight with me?

Vedendo che voi non venivate in mio soccorso, ho posto a repentaglio la mia vita, ho marciato contro i figli di Ammon e il Signore li ha messi nelle mie mani. Perché dunque oggi siete saliti contro di me per muovermi guerra?»
