T herefore we said, that it shall be, if they should so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may reply, Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings nor for sacrifices, but it is a witness between us and you.

Dacă vreodată ne vor vorbi astfel nouă sau urmaşilor noştri, ne-am gândit să le răspundem astfel: «Priviţi acest altar al Domnului pe care l-au zidit strămoşii noştri, nu pentru a aduce arderi de tot şi jertfe, ci pentru a fi o mărturie între noi şi voi.»
