A nd the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy slaves; come up to us quickly and save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.

Por su parte, los habitantes de Gabaón enviaron mensajeros al campamento de Josué en Gilgal, para decirle: «No nos niegues tu ayuda, pues somos tus siervos. Ven pronto a defendernos, pues todos los reyes de los amorreos, que habitan en las montañas, se han aliado contra nosotros.»
