F or as I passed by and beheld your sanctuaries, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him I declare unto you.

فَقَدْ تَجَوَّلْتُ فِي المَدِينَةِ وَرَأيتُ مَعبُوداتِكُمْ، فَوَجَدْتُ مَذبَحاً كُتِبَ عَلَيهِ: ‹هَذا المَذبَحُ لإلَهٍ مَجهُولٍ.› فَأنا أُنادِي لَكُمْ إذاً بِمَنْ تَعبُدُونَهُ وَأنتُمْ تَجهَلُونَهُ.
