A nd, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a prince of the synagogue, and he fell down at Jesus’ feet and besought him that he would come into his house;

A man named Jairus was a leader of the Jewish place of worship. As he came to Jesus, he got down at His feet. He asked Jesus if He would come to his house.
