T hese are those who were numbered of the sons of Israel by the houses of their fathers; all those that were numbered of the camps throughout their hosts were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

These are the Israelites as numbered by their fathers’ houses. All in the camps who were numbered by their companies were 603, 550.
