Jonah 4:2 ~ Iona 4:2

A nd he prayed unto the LORD and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was this not what I said when I was yet in my country? Therefore I hastened to flee unto Tarshish, for I knew that thou art a gracious God and full of compassion, slow to anger, and of great mercy, and dost repent when thou art come to take punishment.

El s-a rugat Domnului astfel: – Ah, Doamne, nu este aceasta tocmai ce spuneam eu pe când eram în ţara mea? De aceea am încercat să fug la Tarşiş, pentru că ştiam că eşti un Dumnezeu îndurător şi milos, încet la mânie şi plin de dragoste, un Dumnezeu gata să renunţe la a mai trimite nenorocirea.
