T he carcasses of every animal which divides the hoof and is not clovenfooted, nor chews the cud, are unclean unto you; everyone that touches them shall be unclean.

Every animal that has a parted foot but not a divided foot, or that does not eat its food again, is unclean to you. Whoever touches them will be unclean.
