¶ Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground, without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for thou shalt no longer be called tender and delicate.

»¡Baja de tu trono y siéntate en el polvo, virginal ciudad de Babilonia! ¡Tu trono es ahora el suelo, destronada ciudad de los caldeos! ¡Nunca más volverán a llamarte “tierna y delicada”!
