A nd if a man smites his slave or his maid with a rod and he dies under his hand, he shall be surely punished.

«إنْ ضَرَبَ رَجُلٌ عَبدَهُ أوْ جارِيَتَهُ بِعَصاً، فَماتَ العَبدُ أوِ الجارِيَةُ بِسَبِبِ ضَرْبِهِ، فَإنَّهُ يُغَرَّمُ.
