A nd Joash, king of Israel, sent to Amaziah, king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife. And behold, the wild beasts that were in Lebanon, passed by, and trode down the thistle.

Dar Iehoaş, regele lui Israel, i-a răspuns lui Amaţia, regele lui Iuda, astfel: – Spinul din Liban a trimis un sol să-i spună cedrului din Liban: „Dă-o pe fiica ta de soţie fiului meu!“ Imediat însă animalele sălbatice au trecut pe acolo şi au călcat spinul în picioare.
