A nd when they were departed from him (for they left him in great diseases), his own slaves conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada, the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died; and they buried him in the city of David, but they did not bury him in the sepulchres of the kings.

Quando os sírios se retiraram dele, deixaram-no gravemente ferido; então seus servos conspiraram contra ele por causa do sangue dos filhos do sacerdote Jeoiada, e o mataram na sua cama, e assim morreu; e o sepultaram na cidade de Davi, porém não nos sepulcros dos reis.
