A ll these which were chosen to be porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve when they were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel, the seer, ordained in their set office.

All these chosen to be keepers at the thresholds were 212. These were enrolled by their genealogies in their villages, these men David and Samuel the seer had established to their office of trust.
