T hen the woman, of whom the living child was, spoke unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

Allora la donna a cui apparteneva il bambino vivo, sentendosi commuovere le viscere per suo figlio, disse al re: «Mio signore, date a lei il bambino vivo, e non uccidetelo, no!» Ma l’altra diceva: «Non sia mio né tuo; si divida!»
