T hen the king of Israel called all the elders of the land and said, Understand, I pray you, and see how this man seeks only evil, for he sent unto me for my wives and for my children and for my silver and for my gold, and I denied him not.

Vua Y-sơ-ra-ên bèn đòi hết thảy trưởng lão trong xứ, mà nói rằng: hãy xem xét và biết rằng người này toan mưu làm hại chúng ta; vì người đã sai sứ đòi các cung phi, con cái, bạc, và vàng của ta; và ta không có từ chối gì hết.
