T herefore the name of it was called Babel because there the LORD confounded the language of all the earth, and from there the LORD scattered them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Perciò a questa fu dato il nome di Babele, perché l'Eterno colà confuse la lingua di tutta la terra, e di là l'Eterno li disperse sulla faccia di tutta la terra.
