Y aconteció que cuando murió Gedeón, los hijos de Israel volvieron a fornicar en pos de los baales, y se pusieron por dios a Baal-berit.

As soon as Gideon was dead, the people of Israel started again to worship the false gods of Baal. They made Baal-berith their god.
