M as dijo esto, no por el cuidado que él tenía de los pobres, sino porque era ladrón, y tenía la bolsa, y sustraía de lo que se echaba en ella.

Now this he said, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the bag took away what was put therein.
