E ntonces el rey llamó a los gabaonitas, y les habló. (Los gabaonitas no eran de los hijos de Israel, sino del residuo de los amorreos, a los cuales los hijos de Israel habían hecho juramento; mas Saúl había procurado matarlos con motivo de celo por los hijos de Israel y de Judá).

And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
