ف َسَألَ داوُدُ المِصْرِيَّ: «مَنْ هُوَ سَيِّدُكَ؟ وَمِنْ أينَ أنتَ؟» فَأجابَ المِصْرِيُّ: «أنا مِصْرِيٌّ، وَأنا عَبدٌ لِرَجُلٍ عَمالِيقِيٍّ. وَقَدْ مَرِضتُ قَبلَ ثَلاثَةِ أيّامٍ. فَتَخَلَّى عَنِّي سَيِّدِي.
