ف َقَدْ قالَ لِي: ‹اسمَحْ لِي بِأنْ أذهَبَ. فَعائِلَتُنا سَتُقَدِّمُ ذَبِيحَةً للهِ فِي بَيتَ لَحمَ. وَقَدْ ألَحَّ عَلَيَّ أخِي أنْ أكُونَ هُناكَ. فَإنْ كُنتُ عَزِيزاً عَلَيكَ، اسْمَحْ لِي بِأنْ أذهَبَ وَأرَى إخْوَتِي.› لِذَلِكَ لَمْ يَأْتِ داوُدُ إلَى مائِدَةِ المَلِكِ.»
He said, ‘I beg you, let me go. Our family is giving a gift on the altar in the city. And my brother has told me to be there. Now, if I have found favor in your eyes, let me leave and see my brothers.’ That is why he has not come to the king’s table.”
