و َلَكِنَّ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ قالُوا لِلحِوِّيِّينَ: «لَكِنْ رُبَّما تَكُونُونَ ساكِنِينَ فِي وَسَطِنا. فَكَيفَ إذاً نَعمَلُ مَعَكُمْ مُعاهَدَةً؟»

But the men of Israel said to the Hivites, Perhaps you live among us; how then can we make a covenant with you?
