« لا تُشفِقُوا عَلَيهِ، بَلِ عاقِبُوهُ حَياةً بِحَياةٍ، وَعَيناً بِعَينٍ، وَسِنّاً بِسِنٍّ، وَيَداً بِيَدٍ، وَرِجلا بِرِجلٍ.

And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
