و َكانَ شاوُلُ يُحاوِلُ تَدمِيرَ الكَنِيسَةِ، فَكانَ يَدخُلُ مِنْ بَيتٍ إلَى آخَرَ، وَيَجُرُّ الرِّجالَ وَالنِّساءَ عَلَى حَدٍّ سَواءٍ، وَيَزُجُّ بِهِمْ فِي السِّجنِ.
