ك انَ كَرنِيليُوسُ تَقِيّاً يَخافُ اللهَ هُوَ وَعائِلَتُهُ كُلُّها، وَكانَ يَتَصَدَّقُ بِسَخاءٍ عَلَى الفُقَراءِ، وَيُصَلِّي إلَى اللهِ دائِماً.

a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, and gave many alms to the Jewish people and prayed to God continually.
