ث ُمَّ قالَ لَهُ مَرَّةً ثالِثَةً: «يا سِمعانُ بْنُ يُونا، أتُحِبُّنِي؟» فَحَزِنَ بُطرُسُ لِأنَّ يَسُوعَ سَألَهُ: «أتُحِبُّنِي؟» مَرَّةً ثالِثَةً. فَقالَ بُطرُسُ لِيَسُوعَ: «يا رَبُّ، أنتَ تَعلَمُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ، وَتَعلَمُ أنِّي أُحِبُّكَ.» فَقالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «ارعَ غَنَمِي.»
