ف َلَمّا سَمِعَتْ مَرْثا أنَّ يَسُوعَ قَدْ جاءَ، ذَهَبَتْ لاسْتِقْبالِهِ. أمّا مَرْيَمُ فَبَقِيَتْ فِي البَيْتِ.
