ف َقالَ يُوحَنّا مُسْتَخدِماً كَلِماتِ النَّبِيِّ إشَعْياءَ: «أنا ‹صَوْتُ إنسانٍ يُنادِي فِي البَرِّيَّةِ: اصْنَعُوا طَرِيْقاً مُسْتَقِيْماً لِلرَّبِّ.›»

He said: “I am ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the L ord,”’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”
