ف ِي تِلكَ الأيّامِ، أصدَرَ أُغُسطُسُ قَيصَرُ مَرسُوماً بِأنْ يَجرِي تَسجِيلُ أسماءِ كُلِّ الَّذِينَ يَعِيشُونَ فِي العالَمِ الرُّومانِيِّ.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
