ح َلَقَ شَعبُ غَزَّةَ شَعْرَ رُؤوسِهِمْ، وَصَمَتَ شَعبُ أشقَلُونَ. يا بَقِيَّةَ سُكّانِ الوادِي، إلَى مَتَى سَتَستَمِرُّونَ فِي تَجرِيحِ أنْفُسِكُمْ؟

Come hath baldness unto Gaza, Cut off hath been Ashkelon, O remnant of their valley, Till when dost thou cut thyself?
