أ ينَ مَضَى حَبِيبُكِ، يا أجمَلَ الجَمِيلاتِ؟ فِي أيِّ اتِّجاهٍ مَضَى حَبِيبُكِ؟ قُولِي لَنا، فَنَبحَثَ عَنهُ مَعَكِ. هِيَ تَقُولُ للفتَيات:

Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee.
