س َمراءُ أنا، غَيرَ أنِّي بَدِيعَةٌ، يا بَناتِ القُدْسِ. سَمراءٌ أنا كَخِيامِ قِيدارَ، وَجَمِيلَةٌ كَسَتائِرِ خِيامِ سُلَيْمانَ.

I am dark, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, more desirable as the booths of Kedar, as the tents of Solomon.
