« إنْ ضَرَبَ رَجُلٌ عَبدَهُ أوْ جارِيَتَهُ بِعَصاً، فَماتَ العَبدُ أوِ الجارِيَةُ بِسَبِبِ ضَرْبِهِ، فَإنَّهُ يُغَرَّمُ.
