ﻧﺤﻤﻴﺎ 5:15 ~ Nehemiah 5:15

ل َقَدْ صَعَّبَ الوُلاةُ الَّذِينَ سَبَقُونِي الحَياةَ عَلَى النّاسِ، وَأخَذُوا مِنْهُمُ الطَّعامَ وَالنَّبيذَ، وَضَرائِبَ يَومِيَّةً أربَعُينَ مِثْقالاً مِنَ الفِضَّةِ. وَكانَ العامِلُونَ تَحتَ إمرَتِهِمْ يُعامِلُونَ الشَّعبَ بِقَسوَةٍ. أمّا أنا فَلَمْ أفعَلْ مِثلَ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ لِأنِّي كُنْتُ أخافُ اللهَ.

The rulers who were before me made the people work very hard. They took bread and wine from them, besides forty pieces of silver. Even their servants ruled over the people. But I did not do so because of the fear of God.
