و َاستَمَرَّ الحِصارُ، فَحَدَثَتْ مَجاعَةٌ شَدِيدَةٌ فِي السّامِرَةِ حَتَّى إنَّ رَأْسَ الحِمارِ كانَ يُباعُ بِثَمانِينَ مِثْقالاً مِنَ الفِضَّةِ، وَالحِفْنَةَ مِنْ زِبلِ اليَمامِ بِخَمْسَةِ مَثاقِيلَ مِنَ الفِضَّةِ.


And a great famine came to Samaria. They besieged it until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and a fourth of a kab of dove’s dung for five shekels of silver.
