و َأرسَلَ آسا هَذِهِ الرِّسالَةَ إلَيهِ: «يَرْبِطُنِي بِكَ عَهْدٌ يَرْجِعُ إلَى زَمانِ أبِي وَأبيكَ. وَها أنا أُرسِلُ إلَيكَ فِضَّةً وَذَهَباً. فَانقُضْ عَهْدَكَ مَعَ بَعْشا مَلكِ إسْرائِيلَ، لكَي يَترُكَنِي وَشَأنِي.»

«Ci sia alleanza fra me e te, come ci fu tra mio padre e tuo padre. Ecco, io ti mando in dono dell’argento e dell’oro; va’, rompi la tua alleanza con Baasa, re d’Israele, affinché egli si ritiri da me».
