و َدامتِ الحَرْبُ طَويلاً بَينَ عائِلتَي شاوُلَ وَداوُدَ. وقَدْ أخَذَتْ عائِلَةُ داوُدَ تَقْوَى أكْثَرَ فأكْثَرَ، بَيَنَما ضَعُفَتْ عائِلَةُ شاول يَوماً بَعْدَ يَوْمٍ. أبْناءُ داوُدَ السِّتَّةُ المَولودونَ في حَبْرُون

Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David; and David grew steadily stronger, but the house of Saul grew weaker continually.
