و َتوقَّفَ يُوآبُ عَنْ مُطارَدَةِ أبْنَيْرَ وَرَجِعَ. وَلَمّا جَمَعَ رِجالَهُ، وَجَدَ أنَّ تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ ضابِطاً مِنْ ضُبّاطِ داوُدَ مفقودونَ بِمَنْ فيهِمْ عَسائِيلُ.
