و َرَأى سُكّانُ تِلْكَ المِنطَقَةِ مِنَ الكَنْعانِيِّينَ المَناحَةَ المُقامَةَ عَلَى بَيدَرِ أطادَ. فَقالُوا: «المِصْرِيُّونَ يَنُوحُونَ بِمَرارَةٍ.» فَسَمُّوا ذَلِكَ المَكانَ آبِلَ مِصْرايِمَ، وَهُوَ شَرْقُ نَهْرِ الأُردُنِّ.
and the inhabitant of the land, the Canaanite, see the mourning in the threshing-floor of Atad, and say, `A grievous mourning this to the Egyptians;' therefore hath called its name `The mourning of the Egyptians,' which beyond the Jordan.
