A nd when the men of Israel that were on this side of the valley, and that were on this side of the Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook the cities and fled; and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.

Quando os israelitas que estavam no outro lado do vale e os que estavam além de Jordão viram que os homens de Israel tinham fugido, e que Saul e seus filhos estavam mortos, abandonaram as suas cidades e fugiram; e vieram os filisteus e habitaram nelas.
