A nd David swore again and again, and said, Thy father certainly knows that I have found favour in thy sight: and he has thought, Jonathan shall not know this, lest he be grieved; but truly Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.

Pero David volvió a jurar, diciendo: Tu padre sabe bien que he hallado gracia ante tus ojos, y ha dicho: “Que no lo sepa Jonatán para que no se entristezca.” Pero ciertamente, vive el Señor y vive tu alma, que apenas hay un paso entre mí y la muerte.
