W herefore Jehovah the God of Israel saith, I said indeed, Thy house and the house of thy father should walk before me for ever. But now Jehovah saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

«لَذَلِكَ يُعلِنُ اللهُ ، إلَهُ إسْرائِيلَ وَيَقُولُ: كُنْتُ قَدْ وَعَدْتُ بِأنْ تَخدِمَنِي عَائِلَتُكَ وَعائِلَةُ آبائِكَ إلَى الأبَدِ. أمّا الآنَ، فَهَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: لَنْ يَحْدُثَ هَذا! فَأنا أُكرِمُ الَّذِينَ يُكرِمُونَنِي. أمّا الَّذِينَ لا يُوَقِّرُونَنِي، فَإنِّي أُصَغِّرُ مَقامَهُمْ.
