A nd he took a yoke of oxen and cut them in pieces, and sent throughout the territory of Israel by the hand of messengers, saying, Whoever comes not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done to his oxen! And the fear of Jehovah fell on the people, and they came out as one man.

Apanhou dois bois, cortou-os em pedaços e, por meio dos mensageiros, enviou os pedaços a todo o Israel, proclamando: “Isto é o que acontecerá aos bois de quem não seguir Saul e Samuel”. Então o temor do Senhor caiu sobre o povo, e eles vieram unânimes.
