A nd Elkanah her husband said to her, Do what is good in thy sight: abide until thou hast weaned him; only, may Jehovah fulfil his word. And the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.

Y Elcana su marido le dijo: Haz lo que mejor te parezca. Quédate hasta que lo hayas destetado; solamente confirme el Señor su palabra. La mujer se quedó y crió a su hijo hasta que lo destetó.
