A nd they waited till they were ashamed; and behold, he opened not the doors of the upper-chamber, and they took the key, and opened, and behold, their lord lay dead on the earth.

They waited until they were afraid because Eglon did not open the doors of the summer room. So they opened the lock and looked in the doors. And they found their owner lying dead on the floor.
